DT_ADD_EXISTING_SYSTEM
Place and manage a second Aurora DXF for an existing solar system.
Adds the extra Aurora export used when a jurisdiction requires existing solar modules to be shown separately from the proposed design.
On the ribbon: JobEngine → Drawing Tools → Add Existing System…
How it works
- Open the Model tab.
- Choose the local existing-system DXF.
- Move the ghost preview to the presentation location you want.
- Click to place it, or press Esc to leave the drawing unchanged.
The source uses the normal Aurora 12× conversion and zero rotation. Its layers
are renamed under JE_EXISTING_*, so they remain separate from the primary
Aurora site plan and can be controlled in Layers.
Run the command again to Move, Replace file, or Remove the managed source. The source is saved inside the DWG; moving or removing it does not require the original local file.
This command does not compare the two Aurora designs or change the BOM, wire schedule, attachments, fire pathways, or electrical calculations.
Prerequisites
- The drawing must already have a session loaded with
LOAD_DT. - The Model tab must be active.
- Choose an Aurora DXF with feet or unitless source geometry.

Open the Model tab to place an existing system. | Click Model, then run the command again. |
Load a session before adding an existing system. | Run LOAD_DT first. |
This existing-system source belongs to session ... | The drawing was loaded with a different job. Remove the stale source or reopen the original job; Move and Replace stay disabled. |
The selected DXF contains no placeable model-space geometry. | Export the correct Aurora design DXF and choose it again. |
