Components palette

Browse and place equipment and component blocks.

The Components tab of the JobEngine palette is a browsable catalog of equipment and component blocks — disconnects, meters, placards, attachment details — that places straight into the drawing.

Open it with DT_COMPONENTS or the ribbon toggle .

Placing a block

Pick a block in the catalog and the placement jig starts (DT_PLACE_COMPONENT under the hood): a live preview follows your cursor and auto-rotates to align with nearby walls. While placing:

R — rotate 90°
F — flip 180°
N — no rotate (skip the auto-rotation)
T — reset
D — switch to dashed edges
Escape — cancel

Auto-rotate works in model space with the World UCS; in paper space or a rotated UCS, blocks place upright — use R / F to rotate by hand.

The options tray at the bottom has a Dashed edges toggle — when armed, your next placements draw with dashed lines (the convention for future/existing equipment). You can also flip a single placement with D during the jig.

Prerequisites

An open drawing. No sign-in needed to browse and place. If a block can't be placed (for example, missing from this template), the message says why — pick a different component or check with your admin.
